On June 9th, 2025 Dr Thomlinson CofE Middle School held an online safety session for parents. The session was aimed to support and educate parents around online safety. The session was well attended.
Please find enclosed slides from the session and information on further websites and resources for parents.

We are pleased to confirm our annual Scholastic Bookfair, which will be in school during the week of 4 November 2024.
During that week the bookfair will be open to students to purchase books or stationery (cash only) during lunchtimes.
Dear Parents/Carers,
I hope this email finds you well. We have had a very productive two weeks at Dr Thomlinson CofE Middle School.
Open Evening
Thank you ever so much to everyone who made yesterday’s school open evening such a special event. A hundred of our students volunteered to give up their evening to help out, with pupils either helping out individual subjects or as tour guides for visiting prospective pupils and parents. The enthusiasm and attentiveness of our children was really appreciated by all our visitors.
House Captain Elections
Over the past fortnight we have had our annual House Captain elections. Eighteen Year 8 pupils stood for election for six posts as House Captains for our three houses – Aidan; Bede & Cuthbert. As part of the campaign, each candidate was required to write a letter of application and give a speech to the whole school. The standard of letter and speeches was very, very high this year with each candidate conducting themselves and their campaign in an excellent manner. I have been very impressed and each person who applied should be very proud of their efforts. However, there were only two posts for each House and the successful candidates were:
Aidan – Emme & Callum
Bede – Jake & India
Cuthbert – Florence & Gracie
Well done to the successful candidates. I have every confidence they will represent their House and School with great distinction.

Dear Parents/Carers,
We have had a lovely and productive first one and a half weeks at Dr Thomlinson CofE Middle School following our Summer break. At the start of the academic year I always feel like shouting “Happy New Year!” as it is indeed the start of new time in our lives.
We have all been very impressed with the attitude and behaviour of our new Year 5 pupils.
It was also wonderful to see familiar faces in Year 6; Year 7 and Year 8 as well as welcoming some new starters in these Year groups. We look forward to a great year ahead.
